Methinks that all that Bullroaring is gonna get us the torch and pitchfork treatment.

Anyone opposed to me calling ourselves a group of travelling nomads who've finally decided to settle down, founding a village nearby, and that we hail from a distant land called Earth and that we call ourselves Gaian? I've always enjoyed the idea of referring to my fellow Earth people as Gaians in scenarios where a person from Earth is trapped in a strange fantasy setting. It sounds a lot better than Earthicans, anyway.

I've always been fond of Terrans myself.

Sounds good to me. Some of my best friends are Gaians. (Terrans too, incidentally).

Trying to think of how best to describe the bullroarer, unless Nathan has parked it in the woods and is walking in.

Maybe describe it as a mechanoid? A kind of creature made out of metal and earth, and that the bullroarer is kind of like a horse, docile but you wouldn't want to get hit by it while it's "running"? That might be simpler than saying it's something we made, for now.

A bullroarer is a flat piece of wood about a foot to a foot and a half long, with a length of cord around four feet long tied to it. You use it by swinging it around at different speeds. They've been used since the stone ages by pretty much everyone. There's not much to explain.

OH.

For some reason I was confused and thought Nate had taken out a dirt bike or four wheeler or something and was using it to scout the surrounding terrain, and that was what was making the noise. I remember you using it before, now.

Now I'm the one that's embarrassed.

Once we're done with treating the sick, Felix and Nathan need to take a tour of the village and see how the local farming is done. With the knowledge we have, it's possible we could make some improvements here or there. Maybe jot down some notes for tools we could make and sell that would improve crop yields and/or improve the lives of the farmers.

EDIT

If they don't have one of these, I'd have Felix making as many of them as he can and almost giving them away for the price he'd charge to time and resources spent making it. Combined with better tilling equipment it'd boost crop yields substantially.

Wouldn't Nate use his Survival skill for treating the sick thanks to his Wilderness Medic stunt?

Would it be reasonable to assume that Felix brought some test tubes and such, in order to collect any samples that catch his interest?

Yes, it would.

Though nobody in this village actually keeps samples of molds or blights. Rather, they tend to destroy it with ferocity and a strong determination to get every last bit.

I figured they would, but the fields would have to be rather large to support a village, however few in number the people might be. Wouldn't hurt to have Felix spend the next while poking around looking for samples. Take some and let the villagers burn the rest.

Even if I don't find a medicine, having stored data of local fungi I do happen across, if there's any to be found, could help research efforts on the manufacture of fungicides later on.

Assuming they let me take some, of course.

I'm assuming it is glass. I don't think anything else really works for lab equipment like this, right?

Also, this is either really good or really bad.

Intentionally looking for something is not a Science roll. It's Investigation, or Alertness.

Identifying what you've found, now that is Science.
