I have mixed feelings over all this. Sasha was complex, and even now I don't trust what went down completely. This is a sad end to things (if it is the end), but not unexpected or even entirely unjustified.
My biggest wonder is with the already barely mended state of things, can Torg and Riff come back from this.

I agree with everyone. That's a major "oh, snap" moment. Riff is apparently empty-handed (though he may have more inflato-cannons in his pocket) -- what's he going to do? What is the just-realized-what-she-did Oasis going to do, especially considering Riff is not a favorite of hers? And when is Torg going to show up to complicate things? endplanets wrote: "Um, she um, she fell down the stairs?" http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20020727

Alternative: "oasis, this person is not an employee of that company. Help me carry her to the nearest source of medical care"

Of course, what he doesn't seem to recognize is that the person she just killed is actually a monster too. I don't think Riff lumps Oasis in the same group as Sam. For one, he knows Oasis can't control Override B-1, while Sam just doesn't bother to try controlling himself. And I don't think Riff has too many illusions about Sasha either. But even if he doesn't care about her or completely trust her, it has to hurt to see her gutted like that.

Also, Schlock's course of action here is interesting.

Interesting in light of the parallels? Certainly he wouldn't have known Sasha was working with Hereticorp at the time. He was sort of working with (mostly against) them, but I'm not even sure he was an employee. He certainly wouldn't have had the clearance to know anything about Sasha. Also, if he had known, he probably would have told Riff some time before joining hC.
