Reaction posts: 84,400. How fitting with a round number for this momentous occasion. (But now I ruined it, making it 84,401.) Yay, the plan worked! Finally, they could take down Hereti-Corp. Looking back it has been with us for so long. But some of the key players remain. Next week will be interesting.

I was number 25 to pledge to pledge! I was going to sign up for Defenders of the Nifty but now I can't do so - aww. I'll sign up later when Pete reorganizes. One can hope this means the pledgers get to use Pete's light icon.

That's nice, to see Pete talk to the camera for the first time. He seems like a funny guy in real life, the kind you'd want at a barbecue right now.

Happy Birthday Pete!

Torg said all along that hC was 'going down". Who knew that he meant it literally?

hC has been "going down" since this began, Shlock can still win though. The base has been the most incidental part of all this so far, mainly because Torg and Shlock are playing two different games.

Great comic, great 20+ update, looking forward to more actual information!

Important question: does Schlock FEEL the li'l rumbl, or does he SEE it on his monitors? I so want him to croak in the wreckage, and I *assume* he would assume the hC base is the safest place for him to be, but...

And HBD Pete!

I thought the flux scientist suffered a lethal dose of steel here.

Does this mean Schlock is actually in the base?

And for that matter, what happens when/if Dade Hereti dies?

Holy Rusted Metal Batman!!

Totally missed that. Good eyes.
And it's after Schlock asked what's going on. Does he have the time travel thing perfected ala Drake and Tyler? ..... Ahhh quick Batman, to the Spec-mobile!

I assumed a Condor or whatever was standing on the balcony and fell over with the rumbling, accidentally discharging its DFA. For sure Schlock wouldn't be sitting around on the outside of the building, especially with Torg / Oasis / Riff inbound. Hopefully he's in a safe room at the lowest levels of the hC HQ. About to be a much, much LOWER level.

And hopefully all the rumble action distracts the snipers, condors, and other assassins from their "First priority, kill Riff" order...

I can just imagine how long this strip took to plan and to actually draw.

Incidentally, I clicked a button that said something about pledging. I assumed it had something to do with Sluggy: The After Years, or however this is going to work. Where do I fulfill my end of the clicky button?

Wow! Today's strip really built to a crescendo!

--Yes, that's what I thought.

But then I keep realizing that it built through the little moments with the hC staff...and these are like little reminders that some of these are "normal" hC people are the ones Torg feels so torn up about killing.

I like the poster-- "No Science, No Gain."

Happy Birthday Pete!

From the video, I think we'll get more information about actually pledging later. This was a "pledge to pledge."

I hope so too!

The timeline made me laugh--and simultaneously keep thinking "that was that long ago?!"
Looking forward to the future, wherever it leads!

^^ You could also say today's strip built to a decrescendo :pun:

Unfortunately for that guy, his name was Dr. Boterlou (ie "Screw you, Dr. Boterlou!"), while the current guy is Dr. Elton. Thus, he sadly remains dead. But it's okay, I'm confident Dr. John Elton will be joining him shortly!
