I wonder why Pete skipped over intervening years that could show us how Tombs assumed control of the Chilus cult and how Wilcott "let her in" on his "dealings with the end-demon" in favor of more recent events that it doesn't feel like we learned anything new about. The dialogue here even seems designed to alert us to what we skipped, but so vaguely as to provide no new information. I appreciate the desire for expediency, but this choice is bewildering.

I'm starting to think the advice Jzaxil has been giving her has not always been in her best interest. She seems to have formed the wrong idea of what Lord Poopy-Pants actually is and does best, which is end everything.

(and I'm sort of with Lord Golbez on this one. Are we going to do more time-hopping, or is it really that there is nothing else in those intervening years that will serve Pete's story-purpose?)

Anyway. I'd imagine Pete is just setting up the context for this new chapter. Hold onto your emergency pants, sluggites. We're due for some reverberance.
