Okay I have been seeing a lot of questions about who is innocent and talk about the differences between the main cast and the DOL cast. Add to this that Riff once said, “He is a Pioneer in a unknown dimension, but he is also still you.” So I wanted to make a chat about the differences between them so what are they? Here is what I have observed:
Zoë
-Is a loyal friend
-Voice of reason
-Usually thinks of others first
-Willing to stand up
-Is stronger than she knows
-Loves Torg but doses not admit it
Alt-Zoë
- Is very happy all the time
-Seems to go along with what the plans
-Think of herself first
-Damsel in distress
- Seems to be weak
-Widow of Alt-Torg
Riff
-Inventor stuff is temperamental
-Builds weapons most of the time
-Robot Mark 1, 2, and 5
-Kidnapped a Torg because of drugs
-Will fight
-Will not knowingly work for evil
Alt-Riff
-Inventor stuff always works
-Builds things to help mankind
-Retreatbot
-Kidnapped multiple Torgs without drugs
-Will run
-Will work for evil
Bun-Bun
-Deadly
-Wise guy and sarcastic
-Street smart and intelligent
Alt-Bun-Bun
-Peaceful
-The only one strait with Torg
-Not Street smart but seems to have an IQ
Gwynn
-Witch on and off, was possessed
-Has anger, is deadly with bat, will fight back
Alt-Gwynn
-Witch, one with the Book of Rather Nice
-Pacifist but stands up with out fighting
Alt Kiki and Torg are from the DOJ so they are in another category so not here.
So did I miss any thing?
What do you guy think are the Alts still them or do they just look like them?

Actually, Riff was responsible only for the return of ONE alt-Torg while not on drugs, and that was the Porto-Torg, which was part and parcel of the same string of mistakes made across the multiverse (alt-Riff got our Torg, Riff got the Porto-Torg, Porto-Riff got the big hairy Torg...).
Then, while on psychotropic drugs, he got back tentacular Torg. Just the two Torgs.
It was alt-Riff who kept stealing Torgs.

To be fair, Alt-Riff only worked for evil because he got transformed, which seemed to force him into being at least somewhat evil.
It's the Book of Ro'thar Niece, which is, admittedly, a pun on Rather Nice, but is not for the same reason that the Book of E-Ville is not the Book of Evil. Just thought someone should point that out.

It was alt-Riff who kept stealing Torgs. I don't count Porto-Torg becase it was a mistake. So that leaves tentacular Torg. I Just cheeked The Riff on Drugs steals a Torg and the Alt-Riff without drugs steals meany Torgs are in the right spot.
And since I know someone will ask this the Alt-Zoë thinking of herself first thing is hard to see but its here, here, here,, and lets not forget that she kiddnaped Torgs to replace hers.

There were Torgs we weren't told about, remember the flannel-wearing fish flopping out its life on the floor?

OH! Now I see; you didn't put a space between Riff and Alt-Riff!

I think the source of the differences is this:
The DoL characters have very little 'steel in their spines'. Until the invasion, they faced little or no adversity.
So you get a Riff who lacks the moral courage to admit he's lost Torg. A Zoe who goes with the flow rather than acting as a voice of reason. A Gwynn who became submerged with the Book rather than resisting it. And so on.
This is the fundamental lame-ness of the dimension: that its inhabitants lack the intestinal fortitude to do things that are hard- for good or for evil. It is not their pacifism that makes them lame, it is their inability to face the dark.

Simon_Jester wrote: The DoL characters have very little 'steel in their spines'. Simon you have a gift for under statement they have they have no spin at all. You have some good points though, you may be right.
Now on the other side DOJ (Diminution of Jerks) Kiki and Torg.
Kiki
-Mind consist of oh shinny and sun shine and flowers.
DOJ kiki
- seems like Bun-Bun Prime until he joined the DOP army something Bun-Bun would never do, so she is a very different character.
Torg
-A good guy who I think cares to much, and has short attention span.
-Loves Zoë and it is understandable that he let himself pretend that alt-Zoë was Zoë Prime
DOJ Torg
-Thinks alt-Zoë had a great body but was Ditzy. (true but Torg would have never said that Oasis' little stretch in the Nut house proves my point)
- Tattoo seems to say Kimmy Sue Hasenpfeffer.
-seems to put #1 first.

I'm not seeing how Alt-Riff's stealing many Torgs makes him different to Riff. Riff stole a Tentacle-Torg who stuck around (since it couldn't get home), with Riff trying to claim "it is so our Torg!", and only left after the regular Torg came back; Alt-Riff stole several Torgs because they kept leaving (who could get home).
If Tentacle-Torg had managed to bugger off back home, Riff could very well have tried stealing another Torg.

Riff was drugged at the time remember:
Torg: I'm not sure I am "your Torg" the Riff I know wouldn't kidnap a Torg from another diminution and try to pass it of as genuine!
Riff: Well I WAS under the influents of a "phychotropic drug" experiment that backfired.
Torg: That's the Riff I know.
that makes him very diffrent from Alt-Riff who said himself that he did it of his on free will.

Riff DID take more Torgs. No one wanted to tell Torg, though we did see a fish in flannel suffocating on the floor.

Right. After the failure of the Tentacle Torg, Riff went straight to cloning. Not a great idea, either, but at least it didn't involve kidnapping.
