That's ok if my crackpot theory convinces no one, it was mostly a passing thought :P

Case in point, I missed that mention of her burning her sister. Though, again, I'm still in 2011, so I might just not have gotten there yet.

Oops. Sorry I wasn't more clear. We don't know that she burned her 'sister' or not - that's just my theory as to why Kusari is always masked. Similar to your theory, but distinctly different. And I am so rarely right, so don't pay any attention to me anyway. LOL

I think it's entirely possible that the biggest difference between Kusari and Oasis is that Kusari doesn't get a new body when she dies and comes back.

That would explain the necessity of retrieving it when the coast is clear after the vampire fight.

Perhaps she does, but it's not automated...I mean automatic. It must take more work than Oasis' rebirths

OK, scratch my old spec of Kusari being damaged by Oasis' fire... New spec: Kusari can be 'reborn', but unlike Oasis, there are no replacement bodies. Therefore, each time she is 'reborn' her original body must be used. Kusari likely has the 'amazing healing powers' that her sister does, but anything that hasn't healed by the time she dies can't heal, and hence she's basically 'Frankenstein' under her suit and mask.

Which could explain why she hasn't said a single word during her latest appearance.

I would agree with you, except that dialogue in the wrap-up of "Fire & Rain" (panel 5) indicated that Kusari was decapitated then as well, but she was talking after that.

Huh. All this talk about Daedalus and his actual identity made me wonder "who, then, would be Icarus?"

Kusari is actually an anagram for Ikarus. Never noticed that before.

I just laughed out loud. Did *anyone* ever point that out?

A kusari is also the weapon she uses, a chain with weights in the ends.

As for Kusari's identity: Dr. Schlock said she is a limited resource. When he talked about "those kids" she said "Do you include me in that?" He said yes, he knows what is under that mask, and could she at least try to act ashamed?

People have interpreted that as Kusari being one of the women near Torg and Riff. I don't know why no one guessed that she is made from a group of children, one at a time.

When's that from?

That's creepy. I've got an image of many of the Orinso labs (however is spelt) test subjects and together like some Frankenstein monster.

I've then had the question of if Kusari is a rebirthed Oasis whom has been resurrected (multiple times) without the specialist rebirthing chamber, but I'm questioning the lack of pyrokinesis.

When was Kusari first included?

I was wondering the same thing but didn't make it to your conclusion. Bravo!

I have missed this kind of cleverness! This makes up for the disappointment of Roken being based on a misspelling.

Which makes it doubly clever if it's not a complete coincidence.
