This December will officially mark ten years since the last in-comic appearance of Santa. And here he is, still unaware of Bun Bun's existence thanks to the Black Ops Elves' efforts, and he's current without their support at all thanks to Grab-All being taken over. And since the Elves jumped ship to work on this HeretiCorp takedown project, wouldn't you know it, they're all located in the same place as Bun Bun. Now, we're on a chapter titled "Six Months Later". The previous chapter ended in May. Six months from May is November, which means when it ends we'll be heading directly into December with the storyline.

This sounds to me like a recipe for Santa and the Holidays' return to the story.

I was just skimming the archives when I realized it's possible I did the math wrong. It depends what the chapter thinks it's Six Months Later from. If it's simply "from the previous chapter" then yeah, this is going on in November. But the previous chapter's final section is a diversion that ties up the vampire loose ends. Its storyline technically ends one section before, in April. Meaning that six months from then should be October.

I guess it all depends on how long this chapter is supposed to last. If it's meant to be a short intermediary chapter, ending in mid-October makes sense. But if there's still a few sections to go, November is more realistic. Honestly, now that I think about it, not getting to have one last Sluggy Halloween party before the big final climax would be kind of a bummer. So I hope it's shorter.

A flashback Halloween party is possible. I can't remember the year, but Pete used a token photo for Halloween. Also what happened to the DoP curse?

IIRC Santa thinks Bun Bun is dead and didn't see Bun Bun during the last sled attack
Santa doesn't have the Black Ops Elves either so they could/do keep Bun Bun off his radar. Ultimately o think Bun Bun got bored of playing with Santa. Considering he killed the upgraded alien version. Santa is a season and Bun Bun is a god/demi god.

If you're referring to the DoP demon coming along each Halloween to kill Torg, (I'm assuming that's what you're referring to) that ended after Torg thoroughly kicked the DoP's collective butts in That Which Redeems.

(I think Leah has been doing Halloween panels for the last few years?)

Right, I would agree since Bun Bun gets bored easily, except Santa used to be The Krig and we got a smidgen of backstory on their feud in the Mohkadun epilogue, long after that whole alien Santa storyline ended. Which suggests to me that it's still an open thread that needs tied. Possibly with ceremonial daggers and revenge. After all, if Santa was just some jerk who replaced Krig ages ago, he wouldn't understand why Bun Bun has it out for him, yet he seems to understand full well what's going on and was very invested in keeping the bunny in the dark about it. Yet as we've seen, Bun Bun is slowly starting to remember...

Also, it was the Black Ops Elves who actively kept Santa unaware of Bun Bun. That's what I mean: they're not helping him anymore and no longer have access to their own Graball technology. If, on a whim, Santa decides to double-check their findings now that they're gone...even if Graball shows no sign of him, he could still stumble across the elves' own machinations to keep Bun Bun off the radar. Then it would be off to Graball to look for talking bunnies making the news recently, and HC owns Graball so they'd definitely notice that kind of search. OR maybe he'd go confront the elves directly about his suspicions of a coverup...y'know, at the casino that Bun Bun totally doesn't own.
