NPR is doing a comic and graphic novel reader poll for their summer reads.

You can nominate anything from long running comics to graphic novels to single issues to webcomics.

I nominated Sluggy--they will report on the top 100 nominated.

OMG - perfect bookends!

An NPR report was how I very first heard of Sluggy some 18 or 19 years ago.... So in my mind it would be a perfect 'end' of Sluggy to have them do a 20 year 'follow up'!

So thanks for the heads up! I've submitted Sluggy - how about the rest of you?? :bunbun: <-- Bun-Bun insists. ;-)

NPR also did follow up interviews on his ten and fifteen year anniversaries, iirc

Although in this case the poll is open to everything, so it will be up against big published lines, wildly popular indie comics and so on. But it might squeeze in!

Now that you mention it, I do remember one of those (I think it was the 15 year one...), but I must have missed the other?

If they really have done two follow ups, then they definitely have (or had) a sluggite on staff, and I wouldn't be surprised if they do a wrap up regardless. But it surely wouldn't hurt to try to make sure that they do... :-)

I'd have to stop being lazy and actually hunt them down in the NPR archives to confirm whether they really did two. But I do distinctly remember them concluding the interview by jokingly saying they'll have to meet up again on the twentieth anniversary.
